The Men's Show on Bay FM 99.9

Building men's community.
Fierce, but safe.

Celebrating those men in our community who show up with passion, a desire for integrity and change, and who have started the work of healing the masculine.

It's unique - presenting from the coalface of men's work, and seeking to emulate a men's group by using men's group communication methods.

There are usually three hosts live, and one or two guests, many of whom stay for the full length of the broadcast. Which makes for depth, meaning and even a few emotions!

With plenty of hand-picked, positive, independent, Aussie music between the conversations.

Thanks for the feedback Jennifer. This particular show hasn't been put up yet. But there's lots of recent shows here: www.soundcloud.com/themensshowbayfm

This whole show was fantastic with truly important messages shared by all participants. Thanks so much & where might I access a record of the full version of the programme please. Bravo guys.

Hi Friends, Here are the details if you want to support the cause last Monday's guest shared about. There's also a lovely letter from him and pic. Warm regards, Andy.

Thanks for oppurtunity to share through Bay FM its still my favorite station in OZ.
I had never expirenced a mens group so i was unaware of what is expected of the guest. I do wish though that i could have shared some very important aspects of the project that didnt come to mind at the time. I couldnt go into detail how awkward i have found doing a lot of it due mostly to my lack of knowledge in the computor age as i have spent almost 6 years liveing in one part or another of the himalayas. often almost in solitude spending a lot of time with tibetan monks lamas, laddakis and other tribal peoples. learning about them and there way of liveing in such extreme conditions. Doing the project in nepal has helped me come to terms with people and myself. It is a healer in itself,

I would love to arrange a call to action as steve called it if you think this could bring some positive response and possibly bring donations. i have friends in bands and duets who are willing to support the project through music. Could you recommend a site for an event that could be donated for the cause

I look forward to hearing your reply
Regards James

From this morning's show: The autobiographical piece written by the man who either sang or wrote the song from his cell in a Bali detention centre. Huge kudos to Caspar for all his effort to prepare this show. Enjoy, Andy.

Hello and greetings to Rani Willis, i had a life of ups and downs full of suffering and struggles that if i wrote about them then you can make an amazing and interesting documentary film about it.Now i want to tell you a little bit about it. I was born in 1974 in a very poor family in a faraway mountainous village in Ghor province of Afghanistan, unfortunately i lost my parents when i was a child, i grew up by working as a shepherd and doing other hard works. When i became a young man at the age of 20 i emigrated to Pakistan and there i worked in a coal mine for 4 years, then in Quetta city i became a tailor and later i got married, everyday i worked really hard but due to bad and poor situation of Pakistan which had nt many jobs and the income was low as well, i was forced to go to Iran for work ! I worked there for 4 years and every month i had sent most of my money back home to my family in Pakistan but later when i returned home sadly my wife didnt want to live with me anymore,
Finally she got her divorce, i end it here bcz i dnt want to make it any longer !
As for music, ever since i was a child, i had a keen interest in music, unfortunately i lived in a place that had no facilities and people were too poor so i couldnt follow my dream. Later when i moved to Pakistan i started learning and practicing Dambora step by step slowly by myself, i really wanted to pursue the path of music and go to mysic classes but because of povert when i started a family i could no longer continue music, in the end i m only a simple Danbora player and local singer.
Anout my country Afganistan as far as i remember it was a battlefield full of war and killing, untill today Afghanistan's history is written by wars and bloodshed, more than half of Afgan people are uncivilized and illiterate specially Pashtun tribes people, in Afganistan whoever who has power has everything in life.
Right now i dnt have a bright future, i have been living in Indonesia in a camp for 2 years, i have registered myself in UNHCR head office in Jakarta ever since i came here but still i m nt interviewed yet, i dnt hv any support at all and dnt know what destiny will bring for me.
