This song Weave Again is my favorite from Murray Kyle's latest album Arrow to the Sun. The video is beautifully made too. Something is wrong with this planet until Murray becomes a superstar. That would be a sign to me that human beings can still recognise beautiful music and words when they hear them. Check out his music and more at www.ByronNow.com/MurrayKyle ... See MoreSee Less

Online Q&A about ByronNow.com

Dec 25, 7:00pm - Dec 25, 10:00pm

I have not yet decided when to have an online info session about ByronNow so Im putting the date forward a few months. I will come back and change it when there is demand for a session 🙂

As I am launching the new www.ByronNow.com local visionaries promotion site and contacting the participants and prospective participants, I think it would be a good idea to have a live online discussion of the possibilities. Get your questions answered and give feedback on what's been created so far. Im not anticipating a huge crowd at this early stage, but let's see which local FB users are keen to use this FB resource that takes back some control to the local community !

TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS ONLINE DISCUSSION PLEASE REGISTER HERE byronnow.com/ghangout/byronnow-qa-session/

Standing Stones -Help Save Mullumbimbis Ancient Heritage

Standing Stones -Help Save Mullumbimbi's Ancient Heritage

Dec 12, 7:00pm - Dec 12, 10:00pm

Civic Hall Mullumbimby Map

Hi Everyone - EVENT CANCELLED ~ Message from Steven Strong -

Unfortunately we have to call off the meeting on this Tuesday December 12th at the Mullum Civic Hall.

There were many Original people booked in to speak on the night
who are adamant that knowledge of these mounds and the ten acre complex needs to be shared,
and that the main mound and the associated Standing Stones should be put back together.

Unfortunately the Lands Council and some other people do not want any change
to the secrecy and neglect the mound experiences
and have no plans to rebuild it or hold ceremony.
This group put out a media release that included unfounded accusations
and statements by Byron Shire councilors demanding we cancel the gathering.
At very least this would put a dark cloud over the night
and create an atmosphere that is not appropriate for discussing such important subjects
(and presenting other important news).

We feel this complex has a huge role to play in future events if used with respect.
That was our collective goal, but it is not shared by the group now supported by the Byron Council
who feel that secrecy and leaving things damaged is the best path.

We do apologise for canceling at this late date
but the climate is now too heated and hostile to proceed with the gathering,
and it seems likely that all knowledge of the complex will fade away.

Cheers - Steve Strong

Leaving this info here below so that you can see what was cancelled - - - I am leaving this event here for a short while so that people can read the cancellation message. I have changed the date to make it more obvious and so that FB will inform all event attendees.

This is a call to attend a Community Gathering to help save the Men's Initiation site known presently as the 'standing stones' site near Mullumbimby. It is regarded as one of the most important sacred sites on the East Coast, if not the whole of Australia and the planet! This site was known to all salt water people from Cape York and around to the Kimberleys and has to do with what is known as Southern Law. It is still known to the local Original People, and was extensively documented by the President of the Australian Archaeological Society, Fredrick Slater in the 1930s and 40s just before its destruction.

The gathering at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall will include a number of distinguished local Elders and others with tribal connections to the site. It will be facilitated by Steven and Even Strong who have worked tirelessly for many years now to bring to light the true history of the Australian continent - particularly concerning the Original people here, and the implications of their deep connection with the spirit of the land.
Other speakers include Richard Patterson who 'rediscovered' the site, and Duncan Roads of Nexus Magazine who has taken a particular interest in this lost chapter of Australian history.

If this very important 'energy center' can be restored, it could be a major landmark in reconciliation in the new era of "black fella/white fella" dreaming, known as Bigarra which also translates from the local lingo to mean 'strong community'.
We hope that through this community awareness day, and with your support we can come to some sort of arrangement with the current land owners, or else purchase the site, so that it can be care-taken properly and made accessible to the Elders and the public as a learning source and cultural heritage treasure.

The evening will also include a sneak preview of some footage by local film maker David Bradbury regarding recently discovered skulls that Steve has viewed that are completely unlike any found before in Australia. Can these remains be in some way related to this site?

More information about Steven and Evan Strong's work can be found on their website www.forgottenorigin.com

Tickets at the door - $15 or $10 concession
